Thanks to your 2016 Feed Geelong donations, UnitingCare Geelong is better able to assist those who are without food at their Norlane site.  With their Feed Geelong Grant they were able to purchase and install a freezer in their Norlane site food room.

UnitingCare Geelong receives significant quantities of emergency relief food in-kind from a variety of sources including Uniting Church congregations, SecondBite, Foodbank Victoria and members of the Geelong community. While they have been able to accept many donations, they have not been able to accept frozen food or meals. Since the grant and the purchase of the new freezer the Norlane food room has able to receive and safely store frozen food.

This has allowed UnitingCare Geelong to accept more donations  (previously frozen food donations had to be declined), to provide more food to clients and to better match the availability of food with the needs of clients as other excess stock can now kept frozen until required for clients.
